This rattan dining table elegantly illustrates the refinement of high-end 1970s production, when natural materials were shaped with a true consideration for line and proportion.
Its spectacular hourglass base is the defining feature of the piece. Entirely made from bent rattan canes, it forms an airy, sculptural silhouette fully revealed by the original circular glass top. Fine rattan bindings accentuate each joint, attesting to particularly careful craftsmanship.
Its design recalls certain creations by McGuire or rattan collections distributed by Roche Bobois during the 1970s, though no attribution can be confirmed.
Both warm and graphic, this table will sit naturally in a contemporary interior, a holiday home, or a Riviera-inspired setting.
In very good overall vintage condition. The structure is perfectly stable. The original glass top has only a few very discreet, barely noticeable surface scratches from use.
