Rustic wooden coffee table, probably made in the late 19th century, in a Renaissance-inspired Hispano-Flemish vernacular.
Its distinctive base comprises two sled-shaped runners with curled ends, connected to the top by four long bobbin-turned stretchers. This low, dense and architectural construction gives the piece an almost sculptural presence. The rectangular top retains a particularly warm, deep brown patina.
A piece of character, suitable as a coffee table, side table or display plinth. Its design sits equally well within a rustic interior or a more contemporary setting.
Good structural condition with age-related wear. Marked patina, irregularities and old repairs. Old woodworm traces are visible on the base. As a precaution, the affected areas have been treated with a woodworm treatment. All consistent with the age of the piece.
