Distinctive small Rationalist étagère, probably dating from the 1930s.

Characterised by its understated architectural design, it features a geometric construction composed of two vertical side panels connected by two horizontal shelves.

The side panels extend above the upper shelf and feature rectangular cut-out handles with rounded corners. A small central vertical divider adds rhythm to the composition and emphasises the graphic character of the piece.

The étagère features an elegant wood veneer, probably walnut, with contrasting grain patterns and warm golden-brown tones.

With its simple volumes, absence of ornamentation and clearly articulated construction, this piece reflects the modernist and rationalist furniture aesthetic of the interwar period.

Good overall condition, with signs of age and use, including some scratches, marks and minor wear to the edges and surfaces. Please refer to the detailed photographs.

Dimensions: W. 64.5 × D. 31 × H. 65 cm.
