Italian 1970s table lamp attributed to Gaetano Sciolari
Five brushed-aluminium cylinders of varying heights form a miniature skyline, recalling the futuristic explorations that marked Italian design during the 1970s. The mirrored base multiplies reflections and reinforces the architectural effect of the composition.
Each cylinder holds an exposed bulb that becomes an integral part of the design, transforming light into an architectural element.
Its simple volumes, rigorous lines and use of industrial materials give it a presence that is both minimalist and sophisticated.
When unlit, it appears as an abstract sculpture composed of metal columns. When illuminated, the reflections of light on the brushed surfaces and mirrored base create a particularly elegant interplay of perspectives.
An emblematic piece of Italian Space Age aesthetics, capable of bringing a strong graphic accent to a contemporary interior as well as a vintage setting.
Light signs of use consistent with the age of the piece. Working electrics.
Dimensions: H 44 cm including bulb × Ø 22 cm
