Some pieces appear to have been drawn in a single gesture.
This armchair, made of woven cord and steel, unfolds through space as a continuous line that successively becomes base, seat, backrest and armrest—seemingly defying gravity.
Its silhouette also recalls certain later explorations by British designer Tom Dixon around the chair as sculpture, notably his celebrated Question Mark Chair, of which this piece seems to offer a more handcrafted and instinctive interpretation.
A distinctive piece, rare for its design, at the boundary between design and sculpture. It may be considered both as an occasional seat and as a true sculptural presence within an interior.
In good overall vintage condition, with light signs of age consistent with the period. The original weaving is in very good presentation condition.
Dimensions: Overall H 107 cm × seat H 43 cm × W 80 cm
