Cane-Back Armchair by G-Plan, England, Late 1970s
Sold individually.
An English dining armchair featuring an afromosia frame in warm golden-brown tones, a cane backrest and a seat reupholstered in an off-white bouclé fabric by Bisson Bruneel.
Its slender silhouette rests on four tapered legs, with the rear legs gently splayed. The angular armrests extend into supports that curve delicately towards the seat, adding a sculptural quality to the understated design.
The backrest features a central cane panel. Its transparency lends visual lightness to the chair, highlighting the contrast between the wood grain, the amber tones of the cane and the texture of the upholstery.
Elegant around a dining table, it is equally suited for use as a desk chair or occasional seating.
Original G-Plan label retained beneath the seat.
Very good overall condition, with a near-new appearance. Seat reupholstered in Bisson Bruneel fabric. A few light signs of age remain on the wooden frame.
Dimensions : Overall Height: 86cm. Height to seat: 44cm. Depth: 45cm. Width: 49cm. Carver Width: 56cm.
