A rare pair of modernist Art Deco armchairs attributed to "La Parisienne d’Ébénisterie", a Parisian workshop active in the historic furniture-making districts of Faubourg Saint-Antoine and Charonne.
Made circa 1930, they stand out for their highly sculptural silhouettes: broad, curved wooden armrests, taut lines, and sled bases terminating in cylindrical feet. Both generous and architectural, their design belongs to the most modernist strain of French Art Deco.
The armchairs have recently been reupholstered in a beige velvet with subtle shifting highlights, softly enhancing the warmth of the patinated wood. The restoration was carried out with respect for their original proportions.
The “La Parisienne d’Ébénisterie” stamp is present beneath the upholstery, documenting the armchairs’ association with this Parisian firm.
In very good vintage and presentation condition. Light signs of age and occasional earlier restorations to the wooden structure are visible in the detailed photographs. The pair is stable, structurally sound, and ready for use.
