Set of Four “Lune d’Argent” Armchairs by Pascal Mourgue for Fermob, 1985
Originally created for the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, this model won first prize in the design competition held that year and is now part of the Centre Pompidou’s collections.
The design is distinguished by a minimalist steel structure, composed of curved, taut lines that seem literally to draw the armchair in space. Despite their great visual lightness, the chairs are sturdy and surprisingly comfortable.
These examples retain their original grey finish. They show wear, small traces of oxidation and localised paint chips, all visible in the photographs. These marks reflect their history.
